Doing so will help to prevent UV rays from penetrating your skin causing burns, cancer, and premature wrinkling. While sunlight does provide vitamin D, exposure needs to be in moderation.
5.       During the winter period, to take care of your skin , purchase a humidifier. A humidifier will add moisture to the air. This can help to prevent dry skin. Humidifiers are easy to find. They are available in many different sizes, at many drug stores or home improvement stores.
6.       One of the best things you can remember for great skin is to eat the right kind of foods. A healthy balanced nutritious diet of key foods will help you to have good skin. Eat a good diet of things like nuts, seeds, eggs, and plenty of raw fruits and vegetables.
7.       Oatmeal is used to treat many different skin disorders or illnesses. It is a great home remedy for acne. Cook a bowl of oatmeal and then allow it to cool. When it is cool, apply it to your face and allow it to sit until it is dry and then rinse. This will help with several skin problems, especially acne.

Remember that this information is only going to help you if you actually apply it, so to the best of your ability apply all that you learned and you should see success.

5 WAYS TO SAFE YOURSELF FROM HEART DISEASE.

Heart disease is a silent killer and if neglected it might be causing little pains every now and then, like a warning call that you should do something totally different or you will be going to have a stroke or heart attack. You shouldn't neglect any symptoms of a heart attack even if the signs disappear altogether at times. Consider some of these steps below to defend yourself from cardiovascular illnesses.
1. Educate yourself about your family history
You may not talk to your family members a lot but you have to know what your family history consists of because this is going to be one of the very first queries your doctor asks you in the course of a physical check-up. With this knowledge on hand, you and your doctor will know if you do have a high chance of getting heart attacks or coronary disease. You'll be able to work together along with your doctor to monitor your heart health provided that you both are aware of everything. You should take precautions yourself by continuing to keep your weight down including the weight around your waist as this might be an indicator that you are at a risk for cardiovascular disease. Watch out for your cholesterol also - the LDL cholesterol levels must be low and the HDL cholesterol levels must be high.
2. Get moving
Hardly any person gets the workout they want today. In case you are like other people, you get up every single morning knowing exactly what you have to do and rush through your day to achieve things you don't even have the time to do. That's just the way that life is these days for many folks and this leaves little or no time to look after you. The half hour you're sitting down watching the popular show on TV could possibly be utilized to take greater care of yourself. If you wish to watch that show, put your treadmill or perhaps a stationary bike in the room with your TV so you'll be able to work out even though you watch your show. But whatever you do, don't go one more day without exercising. Be motivated to work out. It is absolutely needed to preserve good cholesterol levels.
3. Add Omega-3 to your daily diet
Omega-3 fatty acids are present in sea food and are deemed vital. They will benefit your heart in many ways and help preserve normal cholesterol levels. Their primary advantage is the anti-inflammatory effect they've got on the blood vessels of the heart. This permits your blood to flow more effortlessly and you are able to improve the circulation. Don't consume seafood that is reared in a fish farm. Instead, go for wild fish. To stop yourself from ingesting too much mercury though, you should be wary about the amount of fish you eat. If you like, you can take omega-3 supplement which is equal to 2,000 mgs every day.
4. Consume more fruit and vegetables, lower consuming red meat:
In order to have a wholesome heart, you really should add greens like broccoli, mustard greens, spinach etc. to your meals. Lean meats and other fruit and vegetables which can offer you a super charged heart ought to also be integrated into your meals. Fruits and fresh vegetables play a huge role in keeping your total cholesterol levels down.
5. Don't overlook Vitamin D
You should have a balance of vitamins in your diet program including Vitamin D. Vitamin D can enhance your heart, your complexion, your bones, and also boost your immune system.
Take good care of yourself and see your doctor regularly for better heart health. Maintain normal cholesterol levels and everything will ultimately fall in place.

HERBAL MEDICINE; THE ALTERNATIVE CURE FOR PERFECT HEALTH

Herbal medicine, which is also called or named botanical medicine or phytomedicine, means the use of any plant's seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark, or flowers for medicinal purposes.

herbalism is becoming more mainstream as daily analysis and researches show their values in the treatment, cure and prevention of diseases. Most of the roots herbs and leaves are common plants we come across on a daily basis but because we don’t know the usage and its effectiveness we despise them. They are cheap and mostly readily available in our environments. Some of these herbs and roots will be discussed.Their names, usage, importance etc.
BASIL HERB
The king of herbs, basil herb is one of the oldest and popular herbal plant rich in many notable health benefiting phyto-nutrients. This highly prized plant is referred as "holy herb" in many traditions all over the world.
Basil belongs to the family of Lamiaceae, of the genus: Ocimum. Its scientific name is "Ocimum basilicum." Basil can be found in virtually all parts of the world but, Basil is originally native to IRAN, INDIA, and other tropical regions of Asia. It can also be found in parts of Africa as much as I know of in NIGERIA. Basil is traditionally called ‘nchanwu (igbo) or effirin’ (yoruba) or Ɗaɗɗoya ta gida (hausa). This bushy annual herbal plant is grown for its medicinally useful leaves and seeds. Basil grows best in warm, tropical climates. Fully-grown plant reaches on an average about 100 cm in height. The leaves are light green, silky about 2.5 inches long and 1 inch broad with opposite arrangement. The flowers are quite big, white in color and arranged in a terminal spike.
Different types of basil herb exist. "Mediterranean" cultivar is typically called sweet basil, has light green leaves as opposed "Asian basil" (Ocinum sanctum) that has large, hairy stems and stalks with pink flowers, purple or red leaves and has stronger ‘clove’ like flavor. There is also lemon basil, which has "lemon" flavor.

LIVING IN WEALTH OF HEALTH: HOW TO HEAL EMOTIONAL STRESS

HOW TO HEAL EMOTIONAL STRESS

The very tedious type of stress to adapt with and manage is emotional stress. Because, it is often self-created, it can emerge from nowhere and the stress caused by it only increases the emotional feelings. Therefore, as the emotional stress increases, the emotions get bad, increasing the emotional stress. Thus, the problem regenerates the cause and the problem gets worse.
Emotional stress does not arise from a sudden shock. It can also emerge from a total emotional strain that sums up to an heightening strain that prevents a person from thoughts about anything other than the problems that seem to have no solution. Then, as the stress increases, the mind is left in its own cocoon of stress that can only call attention to it, cutting the person off from the world outside. Thus, emotional stress can lead to detachment, segregation and inability to concentrate, fatigue, and even memory or brain problems.
Emotional stress is often triggered by a dramatic event that puts a person's nervous system under severe strain. This could be an event such as losing a loved one, seeing someone die, or being put into a life-threatening situation. An event like this can put serious strain on a person's mind and nerves and the incredible strain can cause changes in the way that the brain works. In fact, a severe emotional strain could even cause someone to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Unfortunately, emotional stress also increases moodiness,(the state of one’s feelings or well being) which can often make things worse. In fact, those attacks of emotional excess can turn emotional excess up to unbearable levels, leading to further attacks. Then, as these bouts of emotional stress keep adding up, it all becomes too much and the sufferer is left almost completely lost and alone in their own cycle of emotion that hammers incessantly at the brain causing more distress to the patients or bearer.
The following highlights the possible solutions of emotional problems;

ADDING FLAVOR THE HEALTHY WAY

LOWERING SALT INTAKE
When it comes to health, sodium (salt) has drawn a considerable amount of attention because of its relationship to high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a leading risk factor for heart attack, stroke and kidney disease. Scientists have discovered that some people’s blood pressure is sensitive to excess sodium in the diet.
Because high blood pressure is such a serious health problem, most of the salt comes from processed foods; however, only about 15 percent of the sodium in the average diet is added in the kitchen or at the table. The top sources of salt in the diet include processed meats, prepackaged meals, fast foods, canned and dry soups, cheese, salted snack foods and certain condiments. The best way to learn how much sodium is in a food is to read the label. Foods that provides over 300 milligram per serving are particularly high in sodium. For a single food item to carry the term “healthy” on the label, it must contain 360 fewer milligrams of sodium per serving. Following is a list of foods particularly high in sodium:

·        Canned and dry soup
·        Prepackaged meals
·        Soy sauce
·        Salted popcorn
·        Processed cheese
·        Cured Ham
When we’re born with a preference for sweet tastes, salt is an acquired taste. Many people find that after cutting down on salt, many foods that they used to enjoy tastes too salty.

HEALTH BENEFIT OF GARLIC

 Origin of Garlic
Garlic has been a cultivated plant for so long that it is difficult to trace its true origins.
It is most likely that it was originally native to central Asia, spreading throughout Europe and Mediterranean civilizations.
Today, it is cultivated throughout the world grows wild in Italy and southern Europe. Garlic was widely used in ancient Egypt for its healing powers.
During the age of the Pharaohs, garlic was handed out to laborers because it was believed to increase their strength and stamina for the difficult job of constructing pyramids.
The Egyptians also accounted garlic for warding off diseases, and kept it in bountiful supply around slave camps. The Ebers Papyrus (an ancient Egyptian medical writing), cites garlic as a remedy for 22 varieties of diseases. There are even accounts of the Egyptians worshiping garlic.
Garlic is mentioned in the literature of several great ancient world kingdoms including Persia, Babylon, Greece and Rome. Discordies, Rome's head medical officer, is reported using garlic to treat intestinal worms. Aristotle and Hippocrates also mention the use garlic as an important holistic remedy.
Garlic in the Kitchen:
Few common kitchen ingredients are as versatile as garlic. It can be used to flavor a wide variety of food from a number of ethnic origins. Available in most any grocery store, garlic bulbs are inexpensive and keep well.
Each bulb contains several cloves. Each clove can be separated and peeled individually, allowing the others to remain sealed in their husks, prolonging freshness.

Aliments Garlic is recommended for:
Garlic is used to treat many types of infections and health issues. Some of the most common uses for garlic include skin treatments for its anti fungal, antiviral and antibiotic properties. Ingesting garlic has been cited for improving circulation, lowering blood pressure and curing a cough.
As an Antibiotic:
Garlic has been used to treat many types of infections. Add it to a foot soak to treat athlete's foot or press a clove and add a little olive oil to help heal a middle ear infection. Crushed raw garlic is a powerful antibiotic that has the ability to kill certain strains of the staph bacteria. It can be safely applied to any open cut.
For Acne:
The same antibacterial properties that make garlic successful against infections are the same ones that make it a useful acne fighter. Crack open a clove to start up the chemical reaction and rub it directly on the acne-prone areas of your face. You can also crush the garlic and use the juices to rub into the skin.
Mosquito Repellent:
Apparently, the compounds in garlic are harmful to mosquitoes and they will avoid contact with it. You can apply garlic juice to exposed areas of skin to ward off the pests. As a natural alternative to chemicals, you can place garlic cloves around outdoor gathering areas to act as repellents.
Cough Syrup:
Garlic is a powerful antibacterial agent, so it is thought to be able to sooth a sore throat and even ease a persistent cough. Try boiling one bulb of garlic in about one cup of water and drink when cooled. Garlic is also thought to help with bronchitis, ( cough that brings up mucus) allowing people to expel more of the mucus.
Cholesterol Reducer:
Some studies have found that garlic may be able to reduce lipoprotein (LDL, the "bad" cholesterol) levels in the blood. Decreased cholesterol and triglycerides leads to a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. European and American studies show garlic reducing bad cholesterol levels by an average of one tenth.

Blood Pressure Reduction:
Studies have proven that garlic relaxes the walls of arteries and veins, thereby allowing more blood to flow. With easier blood flow, platelets are less likely to accumulate within the veins and arteries, reducing the risk of stroke.
Cancer Preventative:
Garlic is said to improve the immune system by stimulating the body's immune response. Garlic is an effective inhibitor of compounds formed by nitrates that are thought to turn into cancer-causing compounds within the intestines.
For Help with Diabetes:
Garlic has been shown to increase insulin levels in the body, helping to lower glucose levels in diabetics. However, it does not take the place of insulin, and people with diabetes may need to continue on an insulin regimen. But it makes a useful addition to the diabetic menu.
In the Bedroom:
Because garlic increases blood flow, it is possible that it may help with male performance issues.
Colds:
Although garlic cannot cure the common cold, research has shown that people who consume a regular amount of garlic appear show cold symptoms less often.
Stomach Ulcers:
Garlic is thought to protect against stomach ulcers that are commonly caused by the bacterium Helicobacter Pylori. People who eat a regular amount of garlic typically suffer from fewer ulcers.
During Pregnancy:
It is possible that garlic may reduce the risk of preeclampsia (a severe condition that can cause risks to the fetus, usually characterized by extreme swelling of the face and hands).
Garlic is most likely safe for pregnant women if consumed in regular doses like those found in most recipes, however, most health officials do not recommend increased use of garlic because of the risk of bleeding. Nursing women who ingest too much garlic may have increased nursing times, milk odor and increased infant milk consumption.
Toothache:
Sometimes used in conjunction with cloves, garlic has been used to ease the pain from a toothache. Usually, the garlic clove is crushed and held next to the affected tooth.

Getting Rid of body Scars

What is a scar?
When there is an injury, our skin automatically produces more cells in order to re-grow the injured skin. This tissue is known as scars. These scars are easily visible because the cells that grow in making up the scars are of lesser quality than the original cells. They are less resistant to UV (ultraviolent radiation) radiation and are not able to grow any hair since they have no follicles.
When we look for the questions likes ‘how can I get rid of my scars’ or ‘how can I remove my scars’, we should be well familiar with the fact that scars can never be completely healed. There are a number of medical and cosmetic methods to cover up scars, but none of them can claim to remove them completely.
There are many natural and herbal treatments to remove scars. These herbal methods are safe, simple and cost effective. These methods are generally simple home treatments, and they have no harmful effects. You can try these methods before going in for complicated surgical procedures.
Herbal remedies to remove scars
There are several natural and herbal remedies to prevent and treat scars by opening the kitchen cabinet. These herbal methods are inexpensive and safe to use.

·          Cucumber - The cucumber is very helpful in the removal of scar tissues. Prepare a paste of cucumber and apply directly onto the scars. This will help the scars to smoothen out after a few applications left overnight.

·          Indian Gooseberry - The Indian gooseberry (amalaki) is very beneficial in the prevention of scars after healing. Gooseberry is a good source of vitamin C, which is very essential for cementing the open wounds.

·          Garlic - Cut a clove of garlic into half and rub it on the acne scars. This helps to treat the acne without leaving a scar behind later on.

·         Aloe Vera - Aloe Vera is also an effective herbal remedy for the treatment of residual scars. Its juice acts as natural bleach. When applied directly onto the scars it helps the scar to slowly reduce and vanish.

I hope this will help in home remedies of scars
