HEALTHY CHOICES

While eating any kind of breakfast may be better than skipping, it’s important to make healthy choices. Soft drinks, sugary cereals, pastries, fried potatoes and high-fat meats are not a healthy way to go. These foods supply calories your body needs for energy but can be high in fat, cholesterol and sugar and low in vitamins, minerals and fiber. A balanced breakfast will give you the sustain and energy your body needs.
Try to eat a well-balanced breakfast high in complex carbohydrates, some protein and little fat. Whole-grain cereals and breads, non fat milk, yogurt, fruit and even eggs are good choices. These foods stay with you longer and give you the energy you need to make it through the morning. Many breakfast foods are high in simple sugars and can quickly leave you feeling hungry again.
